Effusive by nature, the herb is a potent healer for the kidneys, lungs, and skin, helping purge built-up fluids and blockages to restore flow. Favored for its luck, the herb’s stalk is used as a dowsing rod ~ traditionally believed to reveal hidden springs and mineral seams.

Mullein stands proud in open fields, confident, yet soft and approachable in spirit. It is an air herb known for its soft strength, and ability to dispel stagnant and heavy energy while encouraging inner stillness. Mullein is turned to for conditions related to breath, overstimulation, stiffness, and release.

Rosemary is a fiery, aromatic herb known for sharpening memory, stimulating circulation, and dispelling cold and damp tissue states. Yet its watery coastal origins, where it is nourished by the salty air, speak to a gentler gift: the ability to calm the nervous system, soothe tension, and wash away mental blocks.

Motherwort’s Latin name, Leonardis cacardia, reflects its dual nature: fierce in protection, yet gentle in healing. Its bond with the lion is evident in its form, reminiscent of a lion’s tail. Mexican tarragon (Tagetes lucida), has woven its way into the tapestry of Mexican mythology and culture for ages. The water herb has a special connection to the spirit of Ayauh, the mist, and therefore the realm of dreams. It is also a fire herb and is said to be useful for conditions related to coldness and dampness.
